A secondary disconnect is one of those things that a lot of people skip - until a technician shows up for a service call and can't safely cut power to the unit without going back to the panel. It's a small detail that makes a huge difference when it matters most.

We handled this one for a mini split setup at a rental property in North Park. The outdoor condenser unit needed a proper disconnect installed nearby, which is both a code requirement and just good practice for anyone who might need to service the unit down the road. A Siemens disconnect box mounted to the exterior wall, correctly wired, gives any future tech - or the homeowner - a safe and accessible shutoff right there at the unit.

Inside the unit, the wiring connections are seated cleanly into the terminal block with each conductor landed on its correct terminal. Ground, hot legs, neutral - all properly terminated. It's not glamorous work, but getting it right is exactly what keeps equipment running safely and keeps inspectors happy.

This kind of job comes up more often than you'd think. Mini splits are popular, and a lot of them get installed without the disconnect - either because someone cut corners or because the homeowner didn't know it was required. Either way, it's a straightforward fix when you catch it, and it's the type of work we genuinely enjoy because the result is something that protects both the property and the people working on it.

Whether it's a new install that needs to be brought up to code or a secondary disconnect added to an existing system, we're set up to handle it cleanly and correctly.
